The Camel palette is a mid-toned neutral palette with 3 mattes and 2 shimmers, and it’s predominantly brown. It’s designed to hold the shadows very securely, even with its opening mechanism. Overall, I’d describe the packaging on this palette as functional. You’re unlikely to scratch the shadows by accident as you open the palette, but it’s also not the easiest or most ergonomic palette to open. There is no button that clicks open the palette, only an indent for you to grip as you pry open the palette. The lid snaps shut, but it doesn’t click shut. I suppose this helps the lid shut tight and help protect the shadows. Upon closer inspection, I notice that the inside of the lid has a barely noticeable rounded rectangular window, which is raised. The lid fits tight and has a hinge which allows it to stand upright, which I appreciate. It’s pretty heavy for its size too, which is probably due to the hidden magnet which holds the shadows in place. No shade to drugstore products, but this doesn’t look like it reflects its pricetag.īut after handling the palette in person, I can say the palette is high quality and made of sturdy plastic- even the lid is thick. To me, these palettes look cheap- a lot like an affordable drugstore product- and it isn’t innovative. My only gripe with this is that I have to poke a hole through the sticker on the back to remove the shadows this way… making the product feel cheap.

This also makes the palette easy to clean, which isn’t too difficult anyway given how little kickback the shadows have. There are also little holes that allow you to pop the shadows out from the back, so that you can depot them. The back of the palette has a clear sticker which includes the names of the eyeshadows. On the lid, the Natasha Denona name is printed in small, capital letters that match the whiteness of the palette. This rounded rectangular palette is made of a white acrylic case with a clear plastic lid. I think that’s my inner designer talking here.Īnd then inside the box, is a less striking appearance. Also, the sans serif font is very pleasing to my eye. This box just feels nicely branded, with the fonts in a neutral color story that perfectly match the colors of the eyeshadows. Speaking of details I ignore, this palette has an expiration date of 24 months- a full year longer than most eyeshadow palettes. The back of the box lists ingredients, the names and layout of the shadows, and other details I usually ignore. In smaller letters, the front of the box has the palette name and size. It’s just a pretty light nude/beige box with the Natasha Denona name printed across the front of the box in capital sans serif letters.

I admit, the unicarton packaging for the Camel palette actually excites me more than the actual palette. Not interested in packaging? Skip ahead to the Colors section. But what I think it lacks compared to the other flashier, luxury brands is packaging. In both size and price, the Camel Palette is certainly a better deal compared to other luxury priced eyeshadow quads that we are familiar with. For reference, a standard 1.5g pressed powder shadow from Colourpop is $4.50. Most eyeshadow pans in palettes are not full-sized and are certainly smaller than the standard 1.5g shadow, but Natasha Denona did not skimp in size. Each eyeshadow is 2.5g for a total of 12.5g of product.

This puts each eyeshadow at $9.60 which I find reasonable for the size. Through this review, I’ll answer the burning question that I’ve had about the brand: Is the higher price tag of Natasha Denona’s products justified and are they quality products? ValueĪt $48, this five-pan neutral eyeshadow palette is one of the more moderately priced products in Natasha Denona’s line. This is a neutral palette consisting of three mattes and two shimmers, which I think makes a nice sample for testing out the eyeshadow formula. The Natasha Denona Camel Palette marks my introduction to this brand, recognized for its professional artist quality products and eyeshadow palettes that cost over $200.
